I have spent the last 5 years working extensively with children and adolescents, while keeping about 30% of my time for adult concerns and issues. My practice helps families work on many of the challenging issues that we encounter everyday. Academic and learning issues complicate an already difficult school process with many families facing extraordinary challenges such as ADHD, Depression, Anxiety and Behavioral concerns. Together we will face many of these issues and formulate an individual plan that fits both parent and child/ adolescent needs.
I have an ecclectic view of therapy, but work predominantly within a Cognitive Behavioral framework. Other modalities are employed as necessary, depending on specific needs and interests. Therapy is a joint process and one that needs to feel comfortable to everyone involved.
Additionally, I have been extensively trained administering and interpreting psychological testing. I am specialized in academic (learning) assessments, as well as behavioral and personality testing. Testing may often allow insight into conditions that may not otherwise be understood, as well as allowing special considerations for academic or work related needs. |
